Emails

When you sign up we keep your email address so we can send you the newsletter, two emails a week. We use MailerLite to store it and send the emails. We don't sell or share it with anyone else. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. To have your address deleted, use the contact page or email dan+bairnsandbeaches@theaieducator.io.

Contact form

Messages you send through the contact form are stored and emailed to us so we can reply. We keep them for as long as we need to deal with your message.

Cookies and third parties

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which guides people read. It only sets cookies if you choose "That's fine" on the small notice that appears on your first visit; choose "Essential only" and no analytics cookies are set. You can change your mind by clearing the site's data in your browser. Our hosting provider, Replit, also records anonymous page-view counts. We don't sell data to anyone. When you open a map, your browser loads the map library from cdnjs and map tiles from OpenStreetMap, and event pages embed small OpenStreetMap maps, so those services can see your IP address. Links marked with an arrow open other websites, which have their own policies.

Things saved on your device

The Holy Island crossing check and the night sky tools work entirely in your browser. Tick lists, such as your bird list and the castle passport, are saved in your browser's own storage on your device and are never sent to us.

Calendar subscriptions

The calendar feed is public and contains only event information. We don't know who subscribes.
